GAINESVILLE, Fla. - (AP) Brandi McCain had 21 points, and Vanessa Hayden added 19 and 13 rebounds as No. 10 Florida ran its home winning streak to 13 games with an 88-56 victory Thursday night over Providence.
The Gators (16-2) took advantage of the Friars' foul difficulties by hitting 21 of 23 free throws during a first half, when they led by as many as 22 points.
Kristin Quinn led the Friars (7-9) with 15 points.
Tamara Stocks gave the Gators an early boost, scoring 10 of Florida's first 17 points. She finished with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Florida used a 23-11 rebounding advantage in the first half, and led 45-28 at the break. Florida ended up holding a 53-25 advantage off the boards.
The Gators then used an 11-0 spurt at the start of the second half to make a rout of it.
Poor shooting plagued the Friars throughout the game, and they wound up shooting only 34 percent from the field. Providence came in with a five-game non-conference winning streak.
