Men's Track Places 12th At BIG EAST Championship

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The Providence College men's track team scored 16 points and finished 12th of 13 teams at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track Championship at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. on Sunday, May 7.

The Friars were led by sophomore Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland). Galvin placed second (14:45.13) in the 5,000 meters and earned All-BIG EAST honors.

Sophomore Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand) was PC's second highest scorer, finishing fourth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:52.46.

Junior Ciaran Lynch (Limerick, Ireland) finished sixth and scored in the 10,000 meters in a time of 32:04.54.
