Valentine Invitational at BU, Boston, Mass. - Feb. 12, 2000
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's track team competed at the St. Valentine Invitational at Boston University in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, February 12.
The Friars were led by freshman Chris Livesey of Preston, England and sophomore Dermot Galvin (Kilrush, Ireland). Livesey captured the mile in a time of 4:05.20 and Galvin placed second in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:09.69. Both runners qualified provisionally for the NCAA Indoor Track Championship.
Sophomore Hamish Thorpe (Aukland, New Zealand) and senior Larry Morrissey each ran a strong race in the mile. Thorpe placed sixth (4:08.17) and Morrissey was ninth (4:14.11). Junior Ciaran Lynch finished in the top 10 in the 3,000 meters, when he placed eighth in a time of 8:23.19.
