PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College Friars defeated the Yale Bulldogs, 4-1, in ECAC women's hockey action on Saturday, November 4, 2000 at PC's Schneider Arena.
The Friars took a 1-0 first period lead on Jessica Tabb's third goal of the season, at the 16:22 mark, assisted by Val Bono and Jenn Butsch.
PC extended their lead to 3-0 early in the second period on goals by Val Bono, 57-seconds into the period and Danielle Culgin, at the1:28 mark of the second period.
Freshman Gayle Shalloo gave PC a 4-0 lead, tallying her second goal of the season at the 1:57 mark of the third period, assisted by Bono and Tabb.
With just 49-seconds remaining in the game, Yale's Jane Resor ended the Friar goalie Amy Quinlan's shutout bid, scoring the Bulldog's only goal assisted by Lisa Meyers and Deanna McDevitt.
Quinlan recorded 18 saves and earned the victory, in her collegiate debut. Yale's Katie Hirte recorded 32 saves in the loss.
With the win, the Friars' record improved to 3-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in ECAC action and With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 0-1-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the ECAC.
Providence College will return to action on Sunday, November 5, versus Princeton at Schneider Arena at 2:00 p.m.
