SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Providence College women's basketball team was defeated, 65-49, by Santa Clara University on Friday, November 25th at Bellarmine Prep School in San Jose, Calif.
Providence (1-3 overall) had three players score in double figures, and had the score tied at 38 all with 8:10 remaining in the second half before Santa Clara (2-1 overall) out-gunned the Friars in the final eight minutes.
Senior Jen Gombotz (Southington, Conn.), junior Chrissy Vozab (Amenia, N.Y.) and freshman Jenese Wilcox (Port Chester, N.Y.) all scored 10 points each for the Friars, who have lost three-straight games after opening the season with a com\nvincing 78-55 win over Central Michigan.
The Bronco were led by Annie Garrison, who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.
Providence returns to action this week when they travel to the University of Rhode Island to face the Rams on Wednesday, November 29th.
