Northeastern's Hillary Witt tallied a power-play goal at 12:40 of the first period for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
NU goaltender Erika Silva registered 29 stops in the win. PC netminder Sara DeCosta made 27 saves for the Friars.
With the win, Northeastern raised its record to 19-5-2 overall and 13-3-3 in ECAC play, while Providence dropped to 16-7-2 overall and 13-6-2 in league play.
Providence College will return to action against Harvard on Sunday, Feb. 14 in at Cambridge, Mass. at 2:00 p.m.
