After Harvard took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Tammy Shewchuk at 18:51 of the first period, PC's Kim Mathias tied the game with a shot from the left face off circle at 3:41 of the second period. Angie Francisco put Harvard ahead, 2-1, with the final goal of the second period at the 9:07 mark.
At 2:04 of the third period, PC senior forward Myia Yates pushed in a rebound to tie the game for the Friars. However, the powerful Crimson offense proved to be too much for the Friars as Harvard tallied three goals in the final 17 minutes of the game to earn a 5-2 win. Jennifer Botterill netted what proved to be the game-winning goal at 2:45 of the third. Tara Dunn added two goals to seal the win for the Crimson.
With the win, Harvard raised its record to 22-1-1 overall and 18-1-1 in ECAC play, while Providence dropped to 16-8-2 overall and 13-7-2 in league play.
