PC jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Jessica Tabb broke in and put a backhander by Princeton goaltender Susan Maes at 1:47 of the first period. Bono netted the Friars' second goal of the period with blast from the left point at 16:18 of the first period. Ali Coughlin got Princeton on scoreboard at 18:57 of the first period when she banged in a rebound. PC regained its two-goal lead with 34 seconds remaining in the first period as Myia Yates stole a clearing pass and wristed in a shot past Maes.
Princeton's Pauline Reader scored the Tigers' second goal of the game at the 2:08 mark of the second period. Bono moved in from the point and sent a wrist shot into the back of the net at 14:59 of the second period for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Coughlin netted her second goal of the game at 2:24 of the third period when she snapped in a shot from the left face-off circle.
Sara DeCosta made 31 stops in net for the Friars. Maes recorded 25 saves in the loss for Princeton.
With the win, Providence raised its record to 15-5-2 overall and 12-4-2 in ECAC play, while Princeton dropped to 12-7-1 overall and 11-5-1 in league play.
Providence College will return to action against Yale at PC's Schneider Arena on Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m.
