Worcester, Mass. - Junior forward Alyson Macomber scored the lone goal of the game just under five minutes into the second half to give the Holy Cross Crusaders a 1-0 win over Providence College in women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon at Fitton Field.
Macomber beat Providence goalkeeper Shayna Ross (Sr., Whitman, Mass.) from 20-yards out off an assist from Kate O'Shaunghessy to give Holy Cross its sixth straight win. The victory improves the Crusaders to 8-5-1 on the year while Providence saw its two-game winning streak come to an end to drop the Friars to 5-9-0 for the season.
PC outshot Holy Cross by an 8-7 margin in the game. Ross made three saves in the loss while Crusader's goalkeeper Tiffany DeCoff made six saves in recording her eighth shutout of the season.
The Friars continue their three-game road trip when they travel to Chicago on Sunday, October 24th for a 1:00 p.m. game against the Loyola of Chicago Ramblers.
