Jason Smith begins his first season at Providence College as the graduate assistant for the NCAA Division I women’s hockey program.
 
Smith is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Administration at Providence College after earning a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Keene State College in 2026. Prior to joining Providence, Smith served as an athletics administration intern at Keene State College during the spring of 2026. He has also served as a team leader at USA Hockey’s New England Player Development Camps since 2023. Most recently, Smith represented the New England District at the USA Hockey Boys Select 17 Player Development Camp, an event featuring the top 17-year-old players from across the country. Players from the camp were evaluated for selection to the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Selection Camp, where selected players will represent the United States as the 2026 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
 
At Keene State, Smith was a member of the NCAA Division III men’s ice hockey program, appearing in 94 games during his career. He was recognized as an American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholar and received the Coaches Award from the Keene State men’s ice hockey coaching staff following his final season. Smith also served as vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma) and the Keene State Human Performance & Movement Sciences Honor Society, where he received the department’s Outstanding Future Professional Award.
