Martin Stockwell begins his second season on Bryan Hodgson’s staff.
 
Stockwell joined Hodgson in 2025-26 as the director of player personnel at the University of South Florida. 
 
Prior to arriving in Tampa, Stockwell spent 32 years at Jamestown High School in Jamestown, N.Y., where he served as the JV basketball coach from 1994-1997 and as a varsity assistant coach from 2000–2025.

During his tenure, he played an integral role in the program’s growth and sustained success, contributing to multiple postseason appearances, leading the varsity team to the state final five times, including three out of the last four years before joining the Bulls’ staff. Stockwell also coached soccer, golf, and track & field throughout his tenure at Jamestown High School, while teaching Mathematics.

Stockwell was Bryan Hodgson's head coach at the high school level (Jamestown High School).

Stockwell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Lake Erie College in 1993. Stockwell played basketball for two seasons and was also a member of the golf team for one year. He was named Lake Erie College Male Athlete of the Year in 1991-92, and was also named to the NAIA All-District Men's basketball team in both the 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons.

In 1991-92, Stockwell finished the year in the top 10 in every offensive statistical category in the district, and he scored 1,126 points in just two seasons for the Storm. In addition, Stockwell became the first player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point plateau. He ranks second all-time with 419 field goals made in his career, and third all-time in scoring with 1,126 points during his two-year career. In addition, Stockwell is also third all-time with 168 three-pointers made, and he is fifth in school history with 198 assists.

Stockwell was also a student assistant basketball coach during the 1992-93 season, and he was a resident assistant for one season.

He was inducted into the Lake Erie College Athletic Hall of Fame on May 18, 2002.

Stockwell is married to Beth and has two daughters, Allie and Jenna.
