Stephanie Russell joined Providence College Athletics as the Assistant Cheerleading Coach in August 2016. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Health and Fitness. As a Providence native, she has been a passionate Friar fan for her entire life.

As a coach, Stephanie has spent time in California working for The Spirit Consultants, teaching camps for all level teams. She was also an instructor for Star Athletics and taught camps to high school level teams in the Northeast.

Stephanie cheered at URI for four years. During her senior year, she was part of the schools first team to compete at UCA College National Championship, placing fifth in All Girl Division 1. Stephanie was awarded Most Collegiate Cheerleader 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Stephanie attended LaSalle Academy High School in Providence, RI. As a four year cheerleader, she was an integral member of the team and Captain during the 2009-10 season. She cheered for the football, basketball and competition cheerleading team. Stephanie won three Rhode island State Championships during her four years, and named All State during the 2008-09 season.
Stephanie cheered for Superior Cheer All stars for three years competing for a level 5 coed team. She competed at the World Championship in 2013.
Stephanie is now in her third year working for Arthrex Medical Sales. She resides in Providence, RI.
