Friars Cheerleading represented Providence College competing at the highest level
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College cheerleading team continued it's historic run, placing seventh in the nation at the 2026 UCA College Cheerleading National Championship held in Orlando, Florida this past weekend. This marked the fourth consecutive year the Friars have advanced to Finals. The team competed the most difficult routine in program history with outstanding pride and energy.
Providence College's performance earned a spot among the nation's top teams showcasing athleticism and teamwork throughout semifinals and finals. After all competing teams completed their semifinal performance, the judging panel selected the top 50% to advance to Finals. The Friars qualified and delivered another powerful routine in Finals to secure seventh place in the highly competitive Small Coed Division I.
"I could not be more proud of them from the way they approached this season's Nationals training to the way they attacked their routine in Finals" said Head Coach Melissa DiMicco. "They could not have done it without every single person in this program."
The Friars remain focused on building momentum from this season's success and will continue to elevate the Providence College cheerleading program to new heights. With a talented roster and dedicated coaching staff, the future looks bright for Friars as they strive for continued excellence.
GO FRIARS!
