Dan Weaver enters his second season as the Assistant Cheer Coach and Spirit Program Graduate Assistant at Providence College after joining the staff in June of 2017. Weaver graduated from the University of Delaware in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing & Sport Management. At Providence College, he is also a Graduate Student working towards his Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing, which he plans to finish by Spring 2019.

As a coach, Weaver’s specialization is in helping build and develop the Coed members of the cheer team into not just great athletes, but great cheerleaders. With a strong emphasis on technique, fundamentals, and hard work, he pushes his athletes to have every rep be better than the last.

Prior to joining the Providence coaching staff, he was a four-year member of the Large Coed team at the University of Delaware. During his time as a Blue Hen, Weaver won two UCA Division I Coed National Championships (2014 & 2015), and had second place finishes in both 2016 and 2017. He aims to use the skills and competitiveness that he learned during his college experience to help the team grow physically and mentally.

Weaver spends his summers as an instructor for Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA). UCA is the largest cheerleading organization in the World. Since its founding in 1974, the company has been the driving force in making cheerleading the dynamic, athletic, high profile activity it is today. Weaver has worked with teams at all levels, ranging from youth to college, to help athletes and teams reach their full potential.

Weaver was born and raised in Middletown, Delaware. He lives in Providence now, but enjoys spending time with his family that now resides in Lewes, Delaware.
