Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Will there be a Friars Basketball Season this year? Following from the last statement from Dan Gavitt from the NCAA, we are currently planning on there being 2020-21 basketball season.  With that, we are still working with our partners at the BIG EAST to determine what the best way is for us to safely host games this season.
  2. Where will home games be played for the Friars Men’s Basketball Season in 2020-2021? We are currently planning to have our home games at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center as normal this season.
  3. Will Providence have limited capacity at the Dunkin’s Donuts Center this season? Based on conversations with state and local officials, as well as our partners at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, we are anticipating reduced capacity at home games during the 2020-21 season.  We are creating seating scenarios for 25%, 50%, and 75% capacities at the Dunkin DonutsCenter, so once when we get firm numbers from the state and building on capacities, we will let fans know how we intend to proceed.
  4. What are the payment options for tickets? We currently have our standard options available, with pay in full, 10 month payment plans, and 5 month payment plans available to fans.
  5. Can I wait to pay when there is more clarity on the season? We are allowing fans to customize their payment options this season, to provide more flexibility given the current financial uncertainty many fans are experiencing.  These include custom monthly payment amounts and dates.  Please contact your dedicated account executive for more information.
  1. What is the refund policy if games are cancelled? If games are cancelled, we will provide options for fans to receive either a refund or an account credit for their purchase.  Fans can also donate their funds to the college to help us in our mission to support our student athletes.
  2. If I do not feel safe going to games am I still eligible for a refund? Fan safety is our number one priority.  Once we have information on what the season will look like, and what capacities are available at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, we will provide fans with the best options we can.  This will include an option to opt out of games this season if that is what you are most comfortable with. While we wait for more clarity on the situation for the upcoming year, we ask for fans patience so we can make sure our systems are in place to help all our fans.
  3. Is my donation to Leary Room or Champions Club eligible for refund? Donations to the college are not eligible for refunds. Access to Leary Room and the Champions Club Room are perks of being a donor to the college, and not a service that is being purchased.
  1. If I do not renew my season tickets  due to Covid-19 will I have the first right to those seats next season? Fans will not be penalized if they choose to opt out of the 2020-21 season. We are currently working through a number of models for what the 2020-21 season will look like, and the impact that will have on the 2021-22 season.  Specifics on how this process will impact the 2021-22 season will be announced once we can work through the details on the current season.
  2. If it does come to limited capacity seating at the Dunkin Donuts Center how will that process take place? We are currently developing a number of scenarios based on the different options we think may happen this winter.  Because of the wide range of possibilities still on the table, we cannot commit to a single plan at this time.  However, once we have more details from the NCAA, BIG EAST, Dunkin’ Donuts Center, campus, and state and local officials, we will email fans in full with their options for games taking place in the 2020-21 season.
  3. Am I able to change my seat locations currently? We have currently suspended our seat relocation process in fairness to fans who may not have felt comfortable renewing in the current environment.  We will determine the best course of action with seating locations for a full capacity building once we start planning for the 2021-22 season.
  4. Will my current seat location change in the event of a limited capacity crowd during the season? Most likely yes.  Due to the high number of season ticket holders we have, depending on our allowed capacities, and limitations that come with socially distant seating, we cannot guarantee any specific seat locations tofans.  Once we get the go ahead from the state, we will work with our partners at the Dunkin Donuts Center to determine our available seating manifest for the season, and work to publicize how seating and games will work for the upcoming season.
  1. Am I able to update my current payment plan? Yes.  Please contact your dedicated account executive to update payment options for the 2020-21 season.
  2. Who can I contact if I have any further questions about the season? Your dedicated account executive is available for any questions you may have about the upcoming season.
