Driscoll announces first-ever members of the newly formed

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics Director Robert G. Driscoll announced the first-ever members of the newly formed "Letter-Winner's Society". The athletics department held a ceremony on Thursday, December 4 at McPhail's to induct 67 student-athletes into the society, comprised of the College's six fall sports programs (men's and women's soccer, field hockey, men's and women's cross country and volleyball). At the ceremony, the respective head coach of each sport presented each of the letter winners with a lettermen's jacket. The winter and spring sports programs will receive their lettermen's jackets during a ceremony to be held in the spring.

In the future, the "Letter-Winner's Society" will hold two inductions each academic year to honor student-athletes who have met the criteria to earn a lettermen's jacket. A specific criteria has been developed for each sport by the head coaches and athletic department administrators.
