Providence Launches Friars Pass, Giving Fans Ultimate In Internet Broadcasts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College, a member of Official College Sports Network (OCSN), and Real Netrworks, Inc., the global leader in Iternet media delivery, have partnered for the 2002-03 seasons. Providence, along with more than 45 top colleges and universities, will bring exciting, multi-media content including live audio broadcasts of the best in college sports to fans across the Internet via a new subscription-only service called College Sports Pass.

Friar fans also will be treated to audio from press conferences, the Tim Welsh Coach's Show, all of the Providence College men's basketball regular-season and post-season games, 32 of the Providence College men's hockey regular-season games and all of the post-season action, and all of the home games for the Providence College women's basketball team, as well as selected road games. For just $6.95 a month subscribers will be treated to the highest bandwidth live broadcast yet available.

"We are excited that we can now offer Friar fans the highest quality audio for our internet broadcasts," Providence College Assistant Athletic Director Danny McCabe said. "Friar fans also will have access to some of the top athletic events available on the Internet through RealOne."
