Men's Basketball Season Tickets On Sale
Aug. 10, 2001
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Season tickets for the 2001-02 Providence College men's basketball campaign are on sale at the PC Ticket Office in Alumni Hall or by calling (401) 865-2909. Season ticket prices start as low as $99 for Friar basketball. Great seat locations are still available throughout the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Season tickets also are on sale for Providence College men's hockey and Providence College women's basketball. All three teams are loaded with experience and should provide plenty of action this winter.
The Friar men's basketball team is entering its 75th season of competition. The Friars are led by the 2001 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year John Linehan. Linehan, one of the most exciting players in the BIG EAST, will contend for All-America honors this season. Last season, Head Coach Tim Welsh's squad made its 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and registered a school-record for BIG EAST wins after posting an 11-5 conference mark.
In addition to Linehan, the Friars will return nine players and will have six newcomers joining the roster in 2001-02. The Friars have the talent and depth to compete with the top teams in the BIG EAST. Most of these teams will be in action this winter at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. This year's home BIG EAST schedule includes games against Syracuse, Boston College, Connecticut, Miami, St. John's, Villanova, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.
Individual game tickets for men's hockey and women's basketball will go on sale in September. Individual game tickets for Friar men's basketball can be purchased in October. Season tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the PC Ticket Office in Alumni Hall or by calling (401) 865-2909.
