PC Student Congress Selects Intramural Board As Board Of The Year

Providence, R.I. - The Providence College Intramural Athletic Board was selected by the College's Student Congress as the Board of the Year in voting done by members of the Student Congress at the year ending banquet on Saturday, May 2nd.
The Intramural Athletic Board was selected over the Board of Programming and the Board of Minority Affairs for its success during the 1998-99 school year.
The Intramural Athletic Board works under the direction of the Providence College Athletic Department and Senior Associate Athletic Director J.Gerald Alaimo. The Intramural Board is run by student President Laura Wischusen and 20 students who organize each sport or event, assign officials, schedule games and oversee the activities. PC offers eight men's sports, seven women's sports and five coed sports throughout the school year. Over 900 Providence College students participated in the intramural program during the 1998-99 school year.
Intramurals are open to full-time or part-time students as well as members of the faculty or staff. Members of intercollegiate teams are ineligible to play on intramural teams in the sports that they participate with on the varsity level.
