Athletic Director Robert Driscoll Promotes Three Members Of The Athletic Department Staff

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College Athletic Director Robert G. Driscoll announced the promotions of John Rock to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, Meghan Parks to Associate Head Athletic Trainer and Arthur Parks to Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. Rock had been the Coordinator of Sports Medicine and Meghan Parks was an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Arthur Parks was the Director of Athletic Media Relations.

Rock, a 1980 graduate of Springfield College, is currently in his 15th year of service in the sports medicine department at Providence College. He earned his master's degree in 1982 from Western Michigan University and worked at Hampden-Sydney College and Princeton University prior to joining the Friars in 1986. In his 15 years at Providence, Rock has worked with a number of teams, including the men's ice hockey and soccer squads. In 2001, he was promoted to the position of Coordinator of Sports Medicine.

Meghan Parks, who received a bachelor's degree from Ithaca College in 1993 and a master's degree from Indiana University in 1995, has worked at Providence College since 1996 as an assistant athletic trainer. Parks serves as the athletic trainer for the men's ice hockey team. During her seven years at Providence, she has worked with the field hockey, women's ice hockey, lacrosse, women's basketball and the men's and women's cross country squads.

Arthur Parks began his tenure at Providence College in 1995 as an assistant sports information director. In 2000, he was promoted to Director of Athletic Media Relations. Since 2000, he has served as the media relations contact for the Friar men's basketball team. A 1991 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Parks earned a master's degree in 1994 from West Virginia University.
