16 Student-Athletes Inducted Into National College Athlete Honor Society

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- On Thursday, April 1, 2004, 16 Providence College student-athletes were inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma). The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded in 1996. This marks the first time that Friar athletes have been inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society.

The 16 athletes that were inducted were senior BriAnne Bruni of Bristol, Conn. (women's soccer), senior Brigid Collins of Forest Park, Ill. (women's volleyball), junior Emma Foster of Schluyerville, N.Y. (women's track), senior Patrick Franzen of Taftsville, Vt. (men's swimming), junior Megan Fuller of Staten Island, N.Y. (women's swimming), senior Carol Geddes of Seekonk, Mass. (women's track), junior Thomas Geer of Glastonbury, Conn. (men's track), junior Richard Knightly of Windsor, Mass. (lacrosse), senior Kevin Kornobis of Merrick, N.Y. (lacrosse), senior Lyndsay Taylor of Devonshire, Bermuda (women's swimming), junior Alyssa Meleski of Southington, Conn. (women's swimming), senior Bridget McKenna of Narragansett, R.I. (women's swimming), junior Anne Reilly of Brooklyn, N.Y. (women's swimming), senior Jaclyn Ross of Grafton, Mass. (women's soccer), junior Mark Rotella of Smithtown, N.Y. (lacrosse), and senior Megan St. Ledger of Wilmington, N.C. (volleyball).

Student-athletes must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or higher to be eligible for the National College Athlete Honor Society.
