Women's Basketball Announces Suspension Of Two Student-Athletes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Two members of the Providence College women's basketball team, junior point guard Keisha Blackwell (Baltimore, Md.) and junior forward/center Quiana Copeland (Mattapan, Mass.), have been suspended for violation of team rules.

Blackwell has played 12 games this season for the Friars. She is averaging 8.5 points, 3.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.8 rebounds per game. Copeland has played 13 games for Providence and is averaging 5.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game.

The Friars will host Syracuse in league action on Saturday, January 17 in Providence, R.I.
