Men's Hockey Adds Blake Zielinski To The 2026-27 Roster

The 2026 draft eligible forward finished 51st among North American skaters in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey has added Blake Zielinski (Berlin, N.J.) to the roster for the 2026-27 season. Zielinski finished his second season with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, where he totaled 55 points on 25 goals and 30 assists in 53 games played. Recently, he participated in the 2026 NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, N.Y.
 
Ranked No. 51 among North American skaters entering the 2026 NHL Draft, Zielinski averaged 1.04 points per game in his second USHL season in 2025-26. He participated in the 2026 Chipotle All-American Game and won championships with the U.S. at the 2025 World Junior A Challenge and 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he led the U.S. in scoring with nine points on four goals and five assists. Zielinski was named to the 2026 All-USHL Third Team and was a 2025 USHL All-Rookie Second Team selection.
 
Zielinski was the second-ever winner of the Gaudreau Award, an annual honor bestowed upon the player in the USHL who best embodies the legacy of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. The award criteria are grounded in the personal and professional lives of the Gaudreau brothers, combining elements of on-ice excellence with joy, enthusiasm, care, and responsibility. The honor goes to the player who best exhibits excellence in hockey, spirit of the game, and care and responsibility.
