NEW YORK, N.Y. - Providence College women's soccer players
Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) and
Isabella Kloock-Jensen (Aabenraa, Denmark) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors on Monday, Sept. 8. Schoeley was named Defensive Player of the Week and Kloock-Jensen was selected to the weekly Honor Roll following Providence's 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Schoeley anchored the Friars' defense, logging 90 minutes of action in the team's 1-0 win over Sacred Heart. The senior helped limit the Pioneers to only one shot in the match. Schoeley has led the Friars' back line with 355 minutes this season.
Kloock-Jensen was credited with the game-winning goal in the 60th minute against Sacred Heart. It also marked her first-career goal with the Friars in her debut on Chapey Field.
The Friars will return to action when they host Cornell (2-2-2) on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and stream on ESPN+. Providence holds a 0-3-1 all-time record against the Big Red. In the last meeting between the two teams, Providence was defeated by Cornell, 2-1 (OT), on Nov. 11, 2002, in Jamaica, N.Y.
