PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated by the University of New Haven Chargers, 1-0, in their 2025 home opener on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The Friars fall to 0-2-0 to start the 2025 season.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
• In the 12th minute, New Haven opened the scoring with a bicycle kick goal by junior Lukian Lawro (11:33) to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead.
• The Friars had several promising opportunities in the first 45 minutes, tallying nine shots and six corner kicks.
• PC was unable to find the answer in the second half despite outshooting New Haven 21-5.
• The Friars were awarded nine corner kicks.
• Ian Abbey (Elmer, N.J.) led the Friar offense with four shots, including two on goal.
