GENEVA, OHIO – The Providence College swimming & diving programs competed at the BIG EAST Championships for the third-consecutive day on Feb. 26. The championship is being held in Geneva, Ohio at the Spire Institute. The Friars made 26 finals appearances on the day, spanning 10 events, including two championship finals qualifiers in
Lauren Wagner and
Ryan Sharp.
Wagner set a school-record during the prelims of the women's 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.11, and she advanced to a championship final by virtue of her eighth-place finish. In the finals, she played seventh with a time of 1:05.15.
Sharp finished eighth in the prelims of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.61 and advanced to the championship finals, where he finished seventh (49.88).
Additionally, the women's 400-yard medley relay team set a school record with its seventh-place finish and time of 3:49.87. The squad was made up of
