Women's Tennis Defeated By Stonehill and Siena

WARWICK, R.I. - The Providence College women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches this weekend to fall to 1-4 in spring dual match play. On Saturday (Feb. 8), the Friars fell to Stonehill, 5-2, in addition to a 5-2 setback to Siena on Sunday (Feb. 9).

Mae Abreu and Elise Leik earned straight-set victories in the match against Stonehill on Saturday, accounting for the Friars' two points in the match. On Sunday against Siena, the duos of Camila Barrera/Abreu and Leik/Elisa Davalos captured the doubles point for the Friars. Flora Eidson scored the lone singles victory for Providence out of the No. 1 slot with a 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 win over Vargas of Siena.

Full results from the matches are below. The Friars return to action on Saturday, February 15 against Georgetown. The match will take place at TRI West Bay in Warwick, R.I. beginning at 4:15 PM.
