PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The USTFCCCA released its final Regional Poll on Nov. 15. The Providence College women's cross country team is ranked No. 2 in the Northeast Region. The Friar men's cross country team is ranked fourth in the Northeast Region.
The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional race on Friday, November 14 in Hopkinton, N.H. The Friar women's squad placed three runners in the top-10, scored 71 points and finished second of 37 teams on the 6k course to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, which will be held on November 22 in Columbia, Missouri. Anna Gardiner (Downpatrick, Northern Ireland) was the top Friar women's finisher, placing sixth in a time of 20:04.2.
On the men's side, the Friars placed fourth of 38 teams on the 10k course after scoring 169 points. Sophomore
Ryan LoCicero (Bloomfield, N.J.) was the top finisher for the Friar men's team, placing 23
rd in a time of 30:06.5. The Friars moved up three spots from seventh place in the final rankings.
The Friar women's cross country team will return to action on Friday, Nov. 22 at the NCAA Championship in Columbia, Mo. at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
