PROVIDENCE, R.I. –
Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named Army ROTC Defender of the Week on Monday, Jan. 6, marking her first recognition this season.
Becker led the Friars with a power-play goal and an assist on Friday, Jan. 3, in a 5-3 victory over Vermont. Her multi-point performance was her third this season and the 13th of her career. Over the weekend, she also tallied four blocked shots in wins against Vermont and Merrimack College.
This season, Becker leads all Friar defensemen with 11 points, comprising of two goals and nine assists. She has scored two power-play goals and blocked 27 shots. This marks the second time in her career she's earned the Defender of the Week honors, previously receiving it on Feb. 27, 2023.
UP NEXT
Providence returns to action next weekend when it hosts Holy Cross for the first matchup with the Crusaders this season. The games will take place at Schneider Arena on Friday, Jan. 10 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 11 at 3:00 p.m.
