Thallman kept two second half clean sheets this week.
New York, N.Y.—Providence College women's soccer graduate student Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Sept. 30. Providence opened BIG EAST Conference play 2-0 with wins over St. John's, 1-0 and Butler, 1-0.
Thallman kept two second half clean sheets for the Friars against Big East rivals, St. John's (Sept. 26) and Butler (Sept. 29). The graduate student registered one save and zero goals allowed in a shutout win versus St. John's. Thallman recorded two second half saves against Butler including a penalty kick save in the 86th minute to hold Butler scoreless. She currently holds a 0.733 save percentage on the season with 11 saves and four goals allowed.
The Friars will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 3 when they travel to face UConn at 7:00 PM. The match will be played at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium at Rizza Performance Center in Storrs, Conn.
