ORLANDO, Fla. - The Providence College women's tennis team was edged by IUPUI, 4-3, in Orlando, Fla. on Tuesday, March 12.
Providence claimed the doubles point as Liria Loria and Vannelie Melendez earned a 6-4 win over their opponents Chloe Bailey and Elle Kotre. The Friars won the decisive third doubles match via forfeit. The Jaguars claimed the top-four singles matches before Loria earned a 6-1, 6-1 win out of the No. 5 slot. Providence won the No. 6 match via forfeit to account for the final 4-3 score.
The Friars continue play in Orlando with a match against Emporia State on Wednesday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m.
