KINGSTON, R.I. – The Providence College swimming & diving programs concluded competition at the Harold Anderson Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 24 in Kingston, R.I. The men's team finished second at the four-day meet, while the women's team placed sixth.
Bella Lombard won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.34.
Alex Beauchene also earned victory on the final day, winning the 100-yard freestyle (45.41).
A winning effort was put forth by the 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Nathan Thayer,
Gabe Hawkins,
Ryan Sharp and
Alex Beauchene. The team touched the wall first in a time of 3:02.74. Their winning time edged Wagner's second-place team by four-hundredths of a second (3:02.78).
Rory Sheridan claimed a second-place finish at the women's 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:26.38.
Seth Brodnick also picked up a second-place finish in the 1,650-yard free in the men's competition (15:56.55).

The Friars will pause for the holidays before returning to action on their annual winter training trip in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico (Jan. 2 – Jan. 9). Their next scheduled competition is set for Saturday, Jan. 18 at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
