PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College women's hockey team was defeated by Boston University, 5-1, on Friday, November 1 at Agganis Arena in Boston, Mass. The Friars fell to 5-4-0 on the season and 2-3-0 in Hockey East play, while BU improved to 7-3-0 overall (5-1-0 Hockey East). Junior
Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) scored the lone goal for the Friars. Senior goaltender
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) made 24 saves in net for the Friars.

-The Terriers opened the scoring with a short-handed tally by Neely Nicholson at the 3:26 mark.
-BU increased its first period lead to 2-0 at 8:17 of the first period on a goal by Riley Walsh.
-BU's Clara Yuhn netted the only goal of the second period at 13:42.
- The Friars got on the scoreboard at 15:43 of the third period when
Reichen Kirchmair netted her third goal of the season and her team leading ninth point.

-The Terriers responded one minute after Kirchmair's tally when Ani Fitzgerald scored to give BU a three-goal cushion again.
-BU netted the final goal of the game in game's final minute with a score by Lola Reid.

-The Friars posted a 1-1-1 mark against BU last season with a 1-0-1 record at Schneider Arena.
