- The Friars got onto the board first, with a re-directed goal from Nick Poisson and a tally from Trevor Connelly midway through the first period putting Providence ahead 2-0.
- The Garnet Chargers broke onto the scoreboard early in the middle frame, as a goal from Nate Hanley cut the Friars lead in half at 2-1.

On day two of the draft, John Mustard was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round (67th overall) and Logan Sawyer was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round (78th overall). Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, 2023, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 397 career victories as a Division I head coach. Leaman is the only Hockey East coach to post a winning record in each of the last 12 seasons.
