Bennett Schimek tallied a career-high four points on Friday.

LOWELL, Mass. – Bennett Schimek registered a career-high four points and 11 players recorded at least one point as the No. 10/11 Providence College men's hockey team skated to a 7-2 win over UMass Lowell on Friday (Jan. 26) at Tsongas Center.

NOTES

- After a scoreless first half of the opening period, the Friars struck for four goals over the final 11:38 to take a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes.

- Bennett Schimek scored twice in a span of 3:04, both times creating a turnover and beating Pavicich from point blank for his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

- Guillaume Richard netted his second of the season after finishing off a loose puck in the slot. Jamie Engelbert and Schimek earned the assists.

- Riley Duran one-time an Austen May feed on the power play with seven seconds remaining in the period. The goal was Duran's sixth strike of the year.

- Providence extended the lead to 6-0 with a pair of goals just 30 seconds apart early in the second period.

- Poisson re-directed a Cam McDonald shot for his seventh of the season. Connor Kelley also assisted on the play.

- May walked in from the point and blasted a slap shot over the shoulder of Pavicich for his third of the year to make it 6-0. Cal Kiefiuk and Tanner Adams earned the assists.

- The River Hawks got on the board at 17:42 of the second period on a goal from Jak Vaarwerk.

- Chase Yoder increased the lead to 7-1 on the power play early in the third period off assists from Schimek and Duran. The goal marked Yoder's team-high ninth goal of the season.

- After a stretch of penalties against the Friars, the River Hawks added their second goal of the game as Ben Meehan scored to make it a 7-2 game.

- Schimek posted a career-high four points on two goals and two assists.

- McDonald appeared in his 150th game at Providence.
