PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's soccer team beat Temple, 5-0, on Sunday, September 3 on Chapey Field at Anderson Field in Providence, R.I. The victory marks the best start to a season in program history. Thaea Mouratidis (Scarborough, Canada) recorded four points for the Friars, joining Gillian Kenney (Hanover, Mass.) as the second Friar to register four points in a game this season.

- Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) scored her third goal of the season to open the scoring for the Friars and give them a 1-0 lead. Thaea Mouratidis earned the assist.
- Collen Casey (Franklin, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season six minutes later to make it 2-0. Mouratidis earned her second assist of the game.
- Mouratidis scored her first goal of the season in the 41st minute of the first half to improve the lead to 3-0. This marked her fourth point of the game.
- Corinne Dente (Stamford, Conn.) scored her first goal as a member of the Friars 15 minutes into the second half to extend the lead to 4-0. The goal was assisted by Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.).
- Marryn Gruhn (Northport, N.Y.) scored her first collegiate goal to make it 5-0 in the 74th minute. The goal was assisted by Alanna Coffie (Warwick, R.I.) for her first assist of the season.
