Brendan McSorley scored two goals in the match.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer earned it's first BIG EAST win of the season on Sept. 29 on Chapey Field after defeating DePaul, 4-0. Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J), Rodrigo Vaza (Torres Vedras, Portugal), and Pearse O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn.) scored the goals for the Friars.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-Vaza opened the scoring for the Friars early in the first half with a header. O'Brien and Gevork Diarbian (Cranston, R.I.) were awarded the assists.
-Diarbian earned his second assist of the game following a pass to McSorley who found the back of the net.
-Afonso Serrano made his NCAA collegiate debut late in the first half.
-McSorley scored his second goal of the game late in the second half from a header off Messer's corner kick. It was McSorley's team-leading sixth goal of the season.
-O'Brien found his second goal late the game following a long-pass from Jason Pereira (Bloomfield, N.J.)
-Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) recorded his second shutout of the season.

(1-0)-Providence – 12:04/1st- O'Brien took a pass from Diarbian and crossed into Rodrigo Vaza who found the back of the net from a header inside the box.
(2-0)-Providence- 26:26/1st- Diarbian found McSorley for a shot to the upper-left corner.
(3-0)-Providence-82:25/2nd-Nathan Messer's corner kick was headed in by McSorley.
(4-0)-Pereira gave a long pass to O'Brien who's shot curled into the upper-right corner of the goal.
