PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College volleyball team has concluded its non-conference schedule and will begin BIG EAST competition this weekend with road games against St. John's and Seton Hall. The Friars will take on Seton Hall on Friday, September 22 at 6:00 p.m. and St. Johns on Saturday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. Providence enters the weekend with a 6-6 record.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Friars enter BIG EAST play with a 6-6 record. Most recently, the Friars played in the Boston College / Harvard Tournament where they defeated Merrimack and fell to Boston College and Harvard.
Savannah Ivie received All-Tournament Honors.
Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) leads the Friars' offense with 135 kills followed by
Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas), who has 133 kills. Taylor has also added 87 digs for the Friars defense.
Savannah Ivie ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in digs per set averaging 4.06. She has tallied a total of 191 digs through her first 12 matches as a Friar.
Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) leads the BIG EAST with 45 blocks.
As a team, Providence ranks first in service aces per a set in the BIG EAST. Sammie Rugges (North Olmsted, Ohio) and
Jiji Lykins (Coal Springs, Florida) occupy the number one and two spot for most service aces. Ruggles has registered 27 while Lykins has tallied 23.
SCOUTING SETON HALL… The Pirates enter the weekend with a 6-5 record. Most recently, they played in the Penn State Invitational, where they felt to Penn State and UMBC.
Graduate Student Madeline Matheny leads Seton Hall's offense with 100 kills. She has also owns 68 digs.
Maddie Klungel has recorded 201 assists this season, which is good for 10
th in the BIG EAST.
Senior setter Taylor Jakubowski leads the defense in digs, with 113.
SCOUTING ST. JOHNS… St. John's enters the weekend with an 8-4 record. Most recently, they hosted the Red Storm Invitational. They defeated Bryant and lost to Arkansas and Buffalo.
Erin Jones leads St. Johns in kills with 166 which is good for fifth in the BIG EAST. She has added 104 digs and 40 assists.
Senior seter Wiktoria Kowalczyk ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in assists with 444.
Rashanny Solano Smith leads the defense in digs with 160.
WHATS NEXT… The Friars host DePaul and Marquette for the College's annual Homecoming Weekend. They play DePaul Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 pm. And Marquette Sunday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m.
