Women's Tennis Splits Weekend Matches Against Georgetown and New Haven

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's tennis team split a pair of weekend matches against Georgetown and New Haven. On Saturday, the Friars were defeated by Georgetown, 5-2, before rebounding with a win over the University of New Haven on Sunday, 5-2.

On Saturday, Katie Mulvey and Julia Migliorini captured victories out of the top-2 singles positions, with Migliorini earning a straight-set victory over her opponent, Chloe Bendetti. On Sunday against the Chargers, Providence fell behind 1-0 after doubles play but responded by winning five of the six singles matches to earn the 5-2 victory. Mulvey, Vannelie Melendez, Lauren Carson, Mae Abreu and Elisa Davalos scored singles wins for the Friars.

Providence concludes its regular season schedule at home against Holy Cross on Saturday, April 15 at 12 p.m.
