Noemi Neubauerova scored the lone goal for the Friars while Hope Walinski made 32 saves.

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 3 seeded Providence College women's hockey team fell to the No. 1 seeded Northeastern University, 4-1, on Saturday, Mar. 4 in the Hockey East Championship at Matthews Arena in Boston, Mass. Noemi Neubauerova scored the lone goal for the Friars while Hope Walinski made 32 saves.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The Friars got on board 6:51 into the first period with a goal from Noemi Neubauerova (Prague, Czech Republic), the graduate student's first of the tournament and 11th of the season. Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) and Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) were each credited with an assists.
 
- Northeastern's Alina Mueller tied the score, 1-1, at the 14:35 mark of the first. Maureen Murphy and Chloé Aurard assisted the goal.
 
- The score remained 1-1 heading into the first intermission. Northeastern led in shots 7-6.
 
- The Huskies took a 2-1 lead 6:55 into the second frame with a goal from Megan Carter on assists from Maureen Murphy and Alina Mueller.
 
-With 24 seconds left in the second period, Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) was penalized for slashing. Peterson's time in the penalty box carried over into the final period. 
 
-The Friars trailed Northeastern, 2-1, heading into the final period of regulation. The Huskies led in shots 20-12.
 
- Chloé Aurard converted on the power play 55 seconds into the final period to deepen the Huskies lead at 3-1.
 
- Northeastern took a 4-1 lead when Taze Thompson scored on a power play with 2:38 to play. Maude Poulin-Labelle and Katy Knoll were each credited with an assist.
 
- Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished with 30 saves.
 
- With today's game, Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) made program history with most games played as a Friar with 166 games.
 
- Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) made the Hockey East All-Tournament team. Becker secured four assists in the quarterfinal round against Maine.
 
- Providence, making their eighth championship game appearance, falls to 22-23 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament and 3-5 overall in the title game. The Friars fell to 1-5 overall in postseason play against Northeastern and 0-2 in the title game against the Huskies.
