WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 20/18 Providence College men's basketball team defeated the Georgetown Hoyas (7-23, 2-17 BIG EAST), 88-68, on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The Friars improved to 21-8 on the season and 13-5 in BIG EAST play. The Friars are currently tied with No. 16/15 Xavier for second place in the BIG EAST standings, behind only No. 10/9 Marquette. With today's win, the Friars have won 13 or more BIG EAST games for the second consecutive season and second time under Head Coach Ed Cooley

"We played well from start to finish," Cooley said. "We were able to score early, which gave us a lot of confidence. This was a must-win game and we played with desperation."

Redshirt senior Ed Croswell (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the way for the Friars with a double-double, recording a career-high 25 points, game-high 13 rebounds and career-high six assists. Graduate student Jared Bynum (Largo, Md.) added 18 points with a season-high six three-pointers.
