EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Three Providence College swimmers combined for four appearances on the podium at the conclusion of day three at the BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday, Feb. 24 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.
Kevin Hood and
Ryan Sharp each claimed top-three finishes in their respective events; Hood took second in the 100-yard breaststroke and Sharp finished third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Hood was looking to secure second individual BIG EAST title of his career in the 100-yard breaststroke, but finished second in the race with a time of 54.50 to claim a silver medal.
Sharp earned a bronze medal with a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.64.
Aidan Hughes also got to the podium in the event with an eighth-place finish in a time of 50.46.
Sharp found himself on the podium twice on the third day of competition, as he placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly.

2023 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championship – Day 3 Results
Providence returns to the Nassau County Aquatic Center for the fourth and final day of competition on Saturday, Feb. 25. Prelims start at 10:00 a.m. and finals are slated to begin at 5:45 p.m.
