WARWICK, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team was defeated by Babson College, 6-1, on Saturday (Feb. 12) at TRI West Bay in Warwick, R.I. The Friars drop to 0-4 overall in the spring dual match season.
Babson raced out to an early lead after sweeping the doubles session.
Darah Ross claimed the lone singles win for the Friars as she cruised to a 6-1, 7-6 (5), straight-set victory over Kamila Stasiowska.
Vannelie Melendez forced a third set against her opponent, Juliette Moschella, before ultimate falling 10-6 in the final set.
The Friars are back to work on Friday, Feb. 17 against the University of Rhode Island at 1 p.m. The match will be played at Centre Court in East Providence, R.I.
