EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the University of Rhode Island on Friday (Feb. 17) at Centre Court in East Providence, R.I. The Friars fall to 0-5 overall in the spring dual match season.
Darah Ross and
Mae Abreu earned tightly-contested win in their doubles match in a tiebreaker, but it was the Rams who finished off the remaining two matches to claim the doubles point.
Katie Mulvey earned Providence's lone point, taking a 6-1, 7-5 win over Valentina Cvackova in the No. 1 singles match. The Rams swept the No. 2-6 matches to secure the victory on Friday.
Providence returns to action at Centre Court on Sunday (Feb. 19) against Siena beginning at 11:30 a.m.
