PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer senior forward
Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J.) was named Men's Player of the Week by College Soccer News on Monday, Oct. 23.
McSorley led the Friar offense last week, marking three goals and an assist. In the Friars' 3-1 victory over UConn on Oct.18, McSorley registered two goals, one of them being the game-winner in the 17
th minute. In the 3-0 win against Butler on Oct. 21, McSorley scored the game-winning goal in the 65
th minute and added an assist for Providence in the 72
nd minute. McSorley now has nine goals and one assist on the season.
Following the two wins last week, Providence secured a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament. On Oct. 28, the Friars will play at Seton Hall in the final regular season match of the year. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
