PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer players
Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J.) and
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and BIG EAST Honor Roll, respectively on Monday, Oct. 23. This marks McSorley's second BIG EAST recognition this season and Rosa's first.
McSorley was awarded Offensive Player of the Week following his three goals and an assist last week. In the Friars' 3-1 victory over UConn on Oct.18, McSorley registered two goals, one of them being the game-winner in the 17
th minute. In the 3-0 win over Butler on Oct. 21, McSorley scored the game-winning goal in the 65
th minute and added an assist for Providence in the 72
nd minute. McSorley now has nine goals and one assist on the season.
Bruno Rosa scored two goals for Providence to lead the Friars to a 3-0 victory against Butler on Oct. 21. Rosa has played 637 minutes for Providence and has three goals on the season.
Following these two wins, the Friars secured a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament. On Oct. 28, Providence will play at Seton Hall in the final regular season match of the year. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
