PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College men's soccer seniors
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) and
Gevork Diarbian (Cranston, R.I.) earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, respectively, on Monday, Oct.16. This marks each player's second BIG EAST Weekly Honor recognition this season.
Burns recorded his fourth-consecutive shutout with the 1-0 win over No.5 Georgetown on Oct.14 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. Burns recorded a season-high six saves to prevent the Hoyas from finding the equalizer. He is tied for second in the BIG EAST in shutouts (five), holds a .654 save percentage, and has recorded all 1080 minutes in goal for the Friars.
Diarbian scored the game-winning goal in the 75
th minute to give the Friars a 1-0 victory versus No.5 Georgetown on Oct.14. Diarbian has played 920 minutes for Providence, registering two goals and three assists on the season.
Providence men's soccer will host UConn on Wednesday, Oct. 18 for senior night on Chapey Field on Anderson Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
