The No. 14 Friar women finished 24th while the men’s team finished 34th.
MADISON, Wis.– The Providence College No. 14 women's and men's cross country teams competed at the University of Wisconsin's Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13 in Madison, Wis. The No. 14 Friar women finished 24th (536 points) out of 33 teams. The men finished 34th (755 points) out of 36 teams. Both the men's and women's team competed in a field with 22 out of the top-30 nationally ranked programs.
The women's side was led by Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand). May finished strong in 19th place with a time of 20:17.5. Fellow Friars Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) placed 45th (20:41.8) and 122nd(21:19.2), respectively. Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Canada) crossed the line in 174th with a time of 21:48.7. Reese Fahys (East Greenwich, R.I.) rounded out the top five, finishing 176th (21:49.0). A total of 249 runners finished the race.
For the men, the Friars were led by a 63rd-place finish (24:11.6) by Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand). Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) and Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) finished 96th (24:21.7) and 111th (24:25.3), respectively. Rounding out the Friars' top five were Luke Coffin (Annapolis, Md.) in 242nd (26:03.1) and Grady Satterfield (Bowdoinham, Maine) in 244th (26:09.3). There was a total of 275 runners to finish the race.
