PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced today (Sept. 5) that Providence College graduate defender
Ramzi Qawasmy (Lansdale, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.
Qawasmy helped limit Siena to seven shots, with just two on goal in Friars' 4-0 win on Sept. 2. Going the distance on the Friars' backline, he was called up to take a penalty shot where he scored Providence's third goal of the day. The goal was the first of the season for Qawasmy and came on his lone shot in the game.
Qawasmy has logged 270 minutes this season starting each of Providence's three games thus far. As part of the defensive unit, Qawasmy has helped Providence post two-consecutive shutouts.
Providence will return to action when it plays Rhode Island at home 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 6 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
