Men’s Soccer Ties Seton Hall In BIG EAST Home Opener

Christopher Roman and Luis Garcia each notched their first goal of the season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team tied Seton Hall, 2-2, on Sept. 24 at Anderson Stadium in the team's BIG EAST home opener. Christopher Roman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Luis Garcia (Gran Canaria, Spain) each scored a goal, while Gevork Diarbian (Cranston , R.I.) recorded a season-high two assists.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Providence took an early lead as Roman scored his first goal of the season in the 15th minute off a through ball from Gevork Diarbian.
- Seton Hall was able to take the lead as Quenzi Huerman scored the next two goals of the game to put the Pirates on top 2-1.
- Luis Garcia notched his first goal of the season in the 81st minute to tie the game, 2-2.
- Diarbian was responsible for assists on both Friar goals.
- Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) made six saves in goal for PC.
- The Friars had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. 
- Seton Hall outshot Providence 11-8 (8-5 on target).
- Both teams were able to thwart last minute pushes on both ends to maintain the tie at the completion of regulation.

(2-1) – Seton Hall – 55:05/2nd – Quenzi Huerman got the shot off after an assist from Andrea Borg.
(2-2) – Providence – 80:57/2nd Luis Garcia scored the equalizer from the middle of the penalty box after a through ball from Diarbian.
